The Company
A market leading Marine Engineering firm based in the South of England, who have created some of the industry's most exciting and innovative plans. They have keen plans to expand and have already begun R&D on another new exciting and innovative product to bring to market. Ideally located on the South Coast, next to the UK's marine hub. With offices located right upon the beachfront.
The role
We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Embedded Hardware Systems Engineer to work on innovative and market leading technologies within the Marine industry.You will take responsibility for:
- Assist with the development and design of new electronic hardware and circuits, as well as the improvement and fix of existing hardware and circuits
- Produce block diagrams and detailed schematics digital versions of circuit boards
- Help with the introduction of new electronic components, and the implementation of those components
- Work on improving the functionalities of the existing core products and the design of new innovative products
- Work on the development of new hardware and improve upon or implement new hardware testing software where needed
- Work across multiple business functions and be willing to work with members of other departments to offer assistance where possible to help achieve the overall business aims
- Help work alongside the customer implementation team with field implementations and analysis of hardware issues within a customer setting

What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Software Engineering or aa relevant field
- Minimum 4 years' experience as an Embedded Systems Hardware engineer
- Proven experience working with the design, fixing, debugging and production of electronics circuits, hardware and PCB'S
- Proficient programming and working in an Embedded C environment
- Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent innovative thinking style
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Previous experience/ knowledge of the marine industry standards or protocols
- A keen interest in renewable energy or power generation
- Knowledge and/or experience of Linux/Python
- Ability to prioritise tasks whilst taking on multiple assignments to work to deadline
