Project Manager (Future Engineering Manager)
The company
A leading automation business based in the heart of Telford who have built up a fantastic reputation amongst their varied customer base. The company specialise in providing cutting edge automation solutions such as automated welded, machining and assembly solutions across Automotive, Aerospace, Yellow Goods and Nuclear sectors. Due to significant expansion of their order book and an increase in work with key customers, the company are now looking for a Project Manager to join their growing team.
The role
Reporting into the Technical Director, a Project Manager is now required join the team on a permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:
- Project management of a multitude of projects simultaneously across a range of sectors including Nuclear, Automotive, Aerospace & Yellow goods
- Management of project from initial sales enquiry through to final machine build
- Coordinating a team of 3 Design Engineer's, Purchasing, Sales, Software, manufacturing & production teams to meet project requirements
- Working extremely closely with the end customer, communicating the initial scope of the project back to internal teams and managing the project from cradle to grave to meet on time delivery
- Expectation is for the project manager to grow into the Engineering Management / Head of Engineering position within the short to medium time as the role develops into more of a general operations position
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Project Management experience within an Automation / Engineering/Manufacturing setting is essential
- Customer facing experience is essential and you will be a skilled communicator who can instil confidence into customers
- Experience of managing projects rom Cradle to Grave is essential ideally aligned with machine build/tooling/automation/control systems
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience within the Automation / Robotics / Special Purpose Machinery industry would be a distinct advantage
- Strong IT/Presentation skills including the ability to produce Ganntt charts would be desirable
- Experience of designing equipment for Nuclear, Yellow Goods, Automotive & Aerospace industries is advantageous
- Any experience of robotic welding equipment / machine tools would be an advantage
