The company
A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham specialising in the supply of core Aerospace components to the world's leading Aerospace and defence manufacturers. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a H&S Advisor to join their EHS team.
The role
A Process Leader (Continuous Improvement Leader) who will take responsibility for improvements in cost reduction, recovery, and quality across the manufacturing environment whilst ensuring process and performance development. Working within a team in a high-risk environment on a full-time permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:
- Implementing Hoshin and participate in improvement initiatives whilst ensuring business related reviews are kept up to date.
- Driving team engagement to deliver improvements and enhance departmental performance
- Drive quality improvements whilst supporting the FMEA process.
- Contributing to and working as part of a wider Continuous Improvement team
- Assist in succession planning and collecting and collating product loss
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering setting
- A qualification in a process, mechanical, metallurgy or a relevant science subject
- Experience of working in Six Sigma, Kaizan and lean principles
- Computer literate and excellent problem solver
- A skilled communicator who is comfortable working to deadlines and projects
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience within an Aerospace setting would be highly advantageous but not essential
- Six sigma green belt certification or above is desirable
