The Role- Develop a comprehensive and cohesive support system tailored to the unique needs of both individual learners and groups.
- Aid in facilitating learning experiences, including external work placements, to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Exemplify exemplary behaviour as a role model for learners, reinforcing employability, communication, and social skills.
- Encourage learners to foster independence while providing necessary support and inspiration.
- Collaborate with tutors and college staff to align with the institution's vision, values, and quality improvement plans set forth by the Principal and Trustees.
Professional Responsibilities:- Assist tutors in enhancing vocational learning across all fronts.
- Support tutors in equipping learners with resources and strategies to promote independence.
- Design and implement structured learning activities tailored to learners' specific needs, encompassing time management and appropriate workplace behaviours.
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments as necessary.
- Develop materials to aid tutors in delivering an accessible curriculum.
- Offer individual and group support under tutor guidance.
- Lead midterm planning efforts, integrating functional skills and individual learning plans (ILPs).
- Aid tutors in reviewing and documenting progress against set targets.
- Foster effective communication among learners throughout the day, including breaks.
- Implement strategies to bolster learners' self-esteem and confidence.
- Empower learners to make informed decisions for themselves.
- Share relevant information with curriculum managers and tutors to enrich students' experiences and maximize their potential.
- Prioritize the promotion and safeguarding of learners' welfare.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols during all tasks, whether on or off campus.
Personal Responsibilities:- Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to performance management principles.
- Maintain accountability for personal development records.
- Fulfill a standard weekly workload of 36.5 hours.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and designated training days.
- Address any emergent tasks while attending to individual learner needs.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the smooth operation of the college.
Experience:- Proficiency in working within a flexible and collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience in a learning or coaching setting.
- Familiarity with learning disabilities and difficulties.
- Experience in supporting and fostering independence skills.
Skills:- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Effective networking skills, fostering positive relationships with employers and external partners.
- Adaptability to diverse vocational environments.
- Competence in IT applications.
