The company
A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace, defence, building and construction Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Runcorn site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their technical team.
The role
A Maintenance Engineer, electrical bias reporting into the Engineering Manager, responsible for all planned and predictive maintenance across their Runcorn facility
You will take responsibility for:
- All planned, predictive, and preventative maintenance and respond to machine breakdowns.
- Installation of various equipment and machinery
- Fault-finding on PLC controlled equipment
- Actively participate in projects, advise on spare parts needed and propose improvements to machines and processes.
- Adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Must be apprentice trained and/or qualified in mechanical and/or electrical engineering with experience of working within a manufacturing/production environment
- Must have electrical experience with the ability to interpret and work from schematics and ideally have a good knowledge of electrical control systems and PLC controlled equipment
- Experience of fault-finding on pneumatics and hydraulics
- Must have the ability to work on own initiative, be a strong communicator and have a good attention to detail
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience of working with Rockwell Automation/ABB/Allen Bradley PLCs would be highly advantageous
- Experience of working in an automated paint spraying plant would be desirable but not essential
