The company
A Global Leading Manufacturer in the Dudley specialising in heavy engineering, supplying into automotive, aerospace and defence, oil & gas, power generation sectors and many more. Due to significant growth and an increase in demand with key customers, the company are now seeking a CNC Machinist (Miller) to join the business to ensure quality machining of components in the Machine Shop.
Double days - 06:00-14:00, 14:00 22:00 weekly rotating (£17 p/hr)
Permanent Nights - 22:00-06:00 (£21 p/hr)
The role
Working under the Machine Shop Manager, A CNC Machinist (Miller) is now required to join the business on a permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:
- Machining high-quality components based on engineering specifications and technical drawings and inspecting the components throughout the process.
- Performing general maintenance tasks on the machines, oiling, greasing, and managing of excess material
- Adhering to 5s standards and company Health and Safety to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operating Cranes (pendant and cab-controlled) safely to move products as and when required around the shop floor - Training provided.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Ideally technically qualified or apprenticeship trained in mechanical/electromechanical/machining or similar discipline.
- Must have multi-axis Milling experience and 5-axis CNC Machining
- Must have the ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings.
- Experienced using Heidenhain controls.
- Proficient with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) using Solidworks application and previous experience in offline programming.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Previous experience operating a crane would be advantageous although not essential as training will be provided.
