The company
A Global manufacturing company based in Dudley who specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke automation solutions for a variety of industries including automotive, Defense, aerospace are looking for a Hurco Lathe Setter/Operator.
The role
A Hurco Lathe Setter/Operator is now required to join the team in Dudley, Day shift 7.15am -4.00pm (Monday-Thursday) 7.15am - 12pm (Friday).
You will take responsibility for:
- Setting and Operate CNC Hurco Lathe Machine
- Develop concepts and design tooling.
- Make recommendations to engineering or customers for component redesign to optimise designs for friction welding.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations for feasibility, development, sample, and production welding projects.
- Evaluate quality and apply problem-solving methods to modify weld process parameters, part design, or materials to achieve desired results
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- CNC Machining in Hurco Lathe machine
- Strong problem-solving abilities, both for complex and simple issues.
- Proficiency in mathematics and equation manipulation.
- Effective prioritisation skills to handle a heavy workload.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies and design/manufacturing robustness (e.g., 8-D, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of metallurgical sampling and analysis.
- Familiarity with machining environments, equipment, and processes.
- Conflict resolution facilitation skills.
- Previous involvement in Research & Development or process development
- Tooling background

You can join a global manufacturing company who offer exceptional training including initial with American counterparts for 2-4 weeks in their USA HQ for the successful candidate. Also, you will be expected to travel to potential client sites based around Europe once or twice a year once up and running. Clear career progression with a 3-year plan in place. Offering £30,000 - £35,000 salary.
