A market leading Marine Engineering firm based in the South of England, who have created some of the industry's most exciting and innovative plans. They have keen plans to expand and have already begun R&D on another new exciting and innovative product to bring to market. Ideally located on the South Coast, next to the UK's marine hub. With offices located right upon the beachfront.
The role
We are looking for a skilled Lead Embedded Software Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career and work for an exciting and forward-thinking corporation.
You will take responsibility for:
- Help the company develop their plans into products and drive initiative and intuitive design work.
- Continue to design and develop existing product lines.
- Work across multiple departments to introduce, test and deliver optimal energy solutions. Including generation, storage and hybrid drive systems.
- Assist with field deployments.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in the field of computer science or Electrical/ Software Engineering
- A wealth of experience and good knowledge of being a Lead Embedded Software Engineer
- Experience working on the design and development of electromechanical energy systems
- Expert programming Embedded systems in C
- Proficient programming with Python
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Knowledge and/or experience of energy generation and hybrid energy systems.
- Good knowledge of electronics principles and firmware debugging techniques
- Proficient using source control tools
- Knowledge and/or experience of working with marine protocols and/or standards. These include bur are not limited to NMEA2000, BMEEA and ABYC
- CAN bus protocols including J1939
