The company
A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace and defence Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a Mechanical Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance team.
The role
A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, reporting into the Maintenance Manager, to join the Maintenance Team at their Birmingham Facility.
You will take responsibility for:
- To fault find, repair and carry out planned, predictive and preventative maintenance, fault find and repair on a range of heavy plant machinery ensuring machinery is maintained appropriate standard and minimise downtime
- Fault finding and installations on various heavy plant equipment.
- Attending Breakdowns and completing electrical and mechanical maintenance checks as and when required
- Complying to maintenance schedules, driving quality, and liaising with the wider team regarding downtime estimations, hand backs, solutions, etc.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Must be apprentice trained or NVQ Lvl 3 / HNC qualified in mechanical engineering or similar field.
- The ability to use and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Good knowledge and understanding of PLCs
- Must be computer literate, organised, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a strong communicator
- Must have good knowledge of EHS Health and Safety requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience working within an industrial engineering environment is highly advantageous
- Knowledge or experience working with Allen Bradley would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Experience of operating FLTs or Cranes would be ideal (training provided)
