The company
A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace and defence Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join their maintenance team.
The role
A Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader, reporting into the Maintenance Manager, to support the Engineering and Maintenance Team at their Birmingham Facility.
You will take responsibility for:
- Applying knowledge and expertise to provide professional engineering and maintenance support across the facility, whilst guiding and mentoring the maintenance workforce.
- Managing budgets and overseeing all financial aspects of contracts, including final project valuations, project brief preparation, and client presentations.
- Continuously Improving reliability, developing engineering specifications and conducting Root cause Analyses (RCAs) to address issues.
- Carrying out project management, Maintenance planning/scheduling and improving all activities during planned downtime and completing and reviewing all documentation/project files.
- Ensuring all work carried out is complaint with the company and industry standards and legislation.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Must be HNC/HND qualified in mechanical engineering or similar field - degree qualified would be preferable but not essential.
- Technical knowledge and experience of working in a fast-paced heavy engineering/manufacturing/production environment.
- Ability to analyse and review critical technical engineering drawings and a good knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Must be computer literate (highly competent in Microsoft office and internal systems), organised, self-motivated and have a good attention to detail with the ability to meet target goals and deadlines.
- Must be a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can take leadership.
- Must have good knowledge of EHS Health and Safety requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience working within a heavy industrial engineering environment is highly advantageous.
- A good understanding of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor would be an advantage.
