Role Overview
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to support the learning and well-being of our students. From assisting with classroom activities to providing one-on-one support for children with additional needs, your role will be diverse and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities as a Primary School Teaching Assistant:- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons, providing support to individual students or small groups as needed.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN), implementing strategies outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring their inclusion in classroom activities.
- Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting good behaviour, encouraging participation, and fostering positive relationships among students.
- Assist with the planning and organization of educational resources, materials, and displays to enhance learning opportunities.
- Provide pastoral support to students, offering a listening ear, encouragement, and guidance as required.
- Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (though some training can be provided for the right candidate).
- A positive and nurturing approach to working with children, with a genuine passion for supporting their learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks to support the needs of the school.
