Software Developer - C, C++ OR Java - Remote - up to £60,000 + benefits
Our client, a fast-growing, forward-thinking technology consultancy are looking for junior, mid-level and senior software developers to join their rapidly growing IT team. A key partner to some of the world's largest brands, the firm specialises in providing an industry-leading consultancy service across software development, hardware, embedded, and cloud technologies. Our client operates multiple sites across the EMEA region and are proud to implement employee ownership.
Working within an agile environment, you'll be an important member of the team, where planning, design, development debugging and integration of embedded software modules for some of the world's best digital TV services. This role requires you to create new feature, as well as supporting the debugging team, at around a 60/40 split of your time.
Role Responsibilities
- The role requires someone experienced in software development with C, C++ or Java in an embedded Linux or Android environment
- You will need strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Someone who is experienced developing and debugging multithreaded and/or multi-process code
- Should have the ability to understand complex issues and discuss them via phone, email and other methods
- You must also possess a flexible, proactive, can-do approach - any examples to back this up will certainly help.
Experience
- Object Orientated programming in C++ or Java
- UML diagramming
- C++11
- STL or frameworks such as Qt
- Embedded or mobile Java
- JNI
- Linux kernel
- Drivers
Additional skills
- GCC GDB TDD and Unit Testing frameworks such as Google Test
- Mockito
- JUnit and similar
- Software development for consumer electronics or TV Audio, Video & TV standards
- Networking protocols and standards including TCP/IP
- Wi-Fi UPnP DLNA HLS or MPEG-DASH
- Agile, Scrum methodologies
