The company
Do you want an opportunity to work with one of the most recognisable names in British Engineering? Our customer who are the UK's premium machine tool manufacturer, supplying into some of the largest manufacturing companies in the world, who have a fantastic reputation within their industry for high quality precision machining products. The company are now seeking an experienced Engineering / Maintenance Manager with experience of managing Machine Tool & machining operations, to replace their existing Operations Manager who is relocating abroad.
The role
An experienced Service Manager, is now required to lead a team of 10 on site Engineer's whilst working closely with the on site customer to coordinate any requirements they have.
You will take responsibility for:
- Overseeing a team of 10 service engineer's and two on site administrator's
- Overall responsibility for over 200 machines which are based at the customer premises
- Purchasing / Ordering of necessary parts and consumables required for the upkeep of maintenance & service schedules
- Working closely with heads of departments at the customer premises to coordinate service and maintenance schedules
- Ensuring service level agreements are maintained with the end customer and monitoring of data, KPI's and key service metrics
- Working closely with and coordinating communications with internal and external stakeholders
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Proven experience leading and managing service/maintenance teams
- It is essential you have a strong grasp of Machine Tools, ideally CNC Machining however wider machine tools are also considered
- Strong communication skills where you have a track record of success dealing with customers and
- Reporting experience along with an understanding of budgets and costings would be an advantage
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Additional language skills such as speaking German would be highly advantageous due to the customer base and internal teams however this is not essential

This is an extremely varied role where you will take responsibility for a large team of Engineer's who are based across a huge dedicated site based across over 100 acres.
You can expect to earn £50,000-£55,000 annually along with an annual bonus, a really competitive pension of up to 7% matched along with a host of other benefits which you will benefit from based on working for one of the largest machine tool companies in the world.
