Our client is one of the industry's leading Digital Technology Consultancies based in London and the North of England. Due to phenomenal growth within the company, they are currently looking for a talented Lead Python Developer to join their ever-growing team. This Lead Python Developer role is predominantly remote and is crucial in leading the delivery of technical solutions as part of the team. The Lead Python Developer will able to work independently, act as a strong voice within the team and help drive the team forward with an open-minded and experienced approach.

The role will be central to defining technical solutions and reviewing solutions of other team members. With ever changing projects and a recent heavy growth period, this opportunity will provide a fantastic platform for a Lead Python Developer to capitalise on the organic approach to career progression the company takes. This Lead Python Developer role is mainly remote and the client offers a comprehensive benefits package on top of a generous remuneration package.

Role Responsibilities:

• Leading the delivery of technical solutions as part of a team
• Defining technical solutions and reviewing solutions of other team members
• Mentoring and constantly improving other team members and academy graduates
• Eliciting and documenting system functional and non-functional requirements
• Regularly demonstrating work to stakeholders, users and senior leaders
• Developing strong working relationships with peers across engineering and architecture teams
• Driving adherence to relevant processes, procedures and standards

Experience:

• Commercial experience of software/web development in Python with APIs
• Working knowledge of Django, Flask, etc.
• Strong understanding of software engineering patterns and design principles
• Testing frameworks (e.g., Robot, unittest, PyUnit)
• Use of source control (e.g., git, Subversion, Mercurial)
• Experience with CI/CD solutions, build tools
• Leading distributed teams towards engineering best practices
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Agile software development & delivery lifecycles

Desirable Skills:

• Working directly with customers and end users
• Comfortable discussing solutions with Stakeholders and Senior Leaders
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
