The Company
A market leading Marine Engineering firm based in the South of England, who have created some of the industry's most exciting and innovative plans. They have keen plans to expand and have already begun R&D on another new exciting and innovative product to bring to market. Ideally located on the South Coast, next to the UK's marine hub. With offices located right upon the beachfront.
The role
We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Embedded Software Systems Engineer to work on innovative and market leading technologies within the Marine industry.You will take responsibility for:
- Designing, developing, and producing software that will be implemented into current and future products
- Continue to improve current designs and production of current and new products
- Work across departments and assist with implementation, design, test and delivery of key products and energy generation tools
- Work alongside the customer support team to assist with field deployments
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- University degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- 4+ years' experience working as an Embedded C Developer
- Proficiency writing clean and testable code using C language
- Write clean and testable code using Python
- Proficient with source control tools such as GIT or Mercurial
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Knowledge and/or experience of Marine Protocols
- Experience using production control systems
- Innovative thinking and forward thinking with their mindset
- Exposure to energy generation or power generation
