My client is Global self-contained manufacturing company specialising in professional lighting for a variety of different applications. My client is seeking a driven and creative candidate Junior Design Engineer to begin their career in one of the UK's leading suppliers of luminaires.
The role
Reporting to the New Product Manager, a Junior Product/Industrial Design Engineer is now required to join the team on a permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:- Using critical thinking in order to solve problems and provide effective solutions
- Use concept design to inaugurate new product design adhering to the customers' requirements
- Create and complete drawings and check drawing specifications are sound as well as other relevant documentation
- Use commercial awareness when working in collaboration with the purchasing team ensuring costings are appropriate
- Be innovative and creative when designing products and aid the marketing team in developing promotional marketing
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
It is essential that the candidate have the ability to think creatively and meticulously whilst maintaining a pragmatic approach to cost.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:- Degree/Equivalent in Product Design or Engineering
- Experience or knowledge in Electrical/Lighting desired but not essential
- Ability to effectively communicate and work within a teams
- Knowledge of CAD, in order to create 2D drawings and produce 3D models
- Proven experience (Portfolio) of creating and presenting ideas
