Due to a significant increase in volumes and on the back of the company's growth, the customer is now seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the team at their Uttlesford, Essex Facility.The role
Working under the Head of Automation, a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, is required to join the Engineering team on a permanent basis carrying out preventative & Reactive maintenance checks and assist with breakdowns at their Essex Facility.
Fixed afternoon shifts 15:00 - 23:00
You will take responsibility for:
- To carry out maintenance, fault finding and repair on mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring that systems are maintained to the appropriate standard.
- Responding to breakdowns and being responsible for mechanical breakdowns where necessary
- Carrying out TPM, PPM and PMI checks of various equipment mainly consisting of Automated Conveyors and sortation equipment
- Complying with electrical safe systems of work
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Apprentice trained or NVQ / HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or electromechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
- Experience of working within a maintenance role in a logistics/warehouse/manufacturing background
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Ideally Electrically bias with mechanical competency
- Ideally you will be electrically qualified with 17th/18th edition qualifications
- Additional experience of working with drives, inverters & conductors would be beneficial
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience working within an industrial engineering and/or packaging or innovation environment is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of PLCs would be desirable- Siemens S7 would be an advantage
- Experience of working with Conveyors, sortation equipment would be desirable

You would benefit from a salary of between £38,000-£42,000 - £38,000 is based on a 40-hour week however Engineers are regularly working 45 hours and with the additional overtime premium the OTE for the role is Circa £43,000.
