The company

A Leading global Automation supplier business based in Telford who specialise in cutting edge Automation projects, working closely with some of the world's leading businesses providing industrial and mechatronic solutions across a wide range of sectors. After securing a number of long-term contracts with key customers, the company are looking for a Sales Engineer to join the business working alongside key customers in the Scotland and Ireland UK within the Robotics division.

The role

Reporting to the Robotics Director, A Sales Engineer is now required to take responsibility and accountability for the sales and growth within Scotland and Ireland regions.

You will take responsibility for:

  • Managing and supporting new customers across the Scotland and Ireland, as well as developing existing customer relationships, sales leads, and projects
  • Creating and implementing sales development plans and accurately updating all sales activities into the CRM system in a timely manner
  • Working alongside key customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers, End Users and System Integrators to identify technical specifications and development opportunities, distinguish problem areas and provide standard or bespoke solutions.
  • To take responsibility for market research, identifying potential areas for opportunities and growth.
  • To collaborate with wider robotics division, regularly coordinate with the Internal Sales Team and work in collaboration with the relevant Market Specialists as and when required.

What you need

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

  • To have good technical knowledge in the field of robotics or automation technology
  • To have previous experience working in external sales and previous experience selling capital goods directly into an engineering/manufacturing environment ideally within the automation technology/ control technology/ robotics.
  • The ability to develop existing and new client relationships and a proven track record in account management with the ability to work on CRM systems.
  • Well versed selling to end users and OEMs, taking a consultative approach with the ability to offer "off the shelf", as well as customised offerings that are bespoke to the clients' requirements. Someone who understands "value-added" sales would be especially useful in this role.
  • Must be a skilled verbal and written communicator who is confident communicating at all levels

Other DESIRABLE skills include:

  • An existing network of contacts within Automation/Robotic End Users (EU's), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) and System Integrators (SI's) with an understanding of their push and pull points would be highly advantageous

What is on offer

On offer is the chance to join a Global Mechatronics solution provider, who offer a stable comfortable position due to their extensive list of customers such as tier 1 Automotive suppliers. A large amount of benefits such as a competitive salary of £45,000 - £52,000 (OTE up to £20,000 p/a including overtime) and a comfortable and suitable working week - Mon-Thurs (8:15-5:00) Fri (8-12:30). Also includes a company hybrid car with fuel card, life insurance including Health cover and a lucrative pension scheme.
