The company
A Leading global Automation supplier business based in Telford who specialise in cutting edge Automation projects, working closely with some of the world's leading businesses providing industrial and mechatronic solutions across a wide range of sectors. After securing a number of long-term contracts with key customers, the company are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join the business working alongside key manufacturing customers in the North East regions of the UK within their specialised ancillary equipment division.
The role
Reporting to the Divisional Director , A Senior Sales Engineer is now required to take responsibility and accountability for the sales and growth within the North East region across a number of sectors and industries.
You will take responsibility for:
- Managing and supporting new customers across the North East, as well as developing existing customer relationships, sales leads, and projects
- Creating and implementing sales development plans and accurately updating all sales activities into the CRM system in a timely manner
- Working alongside key customers to distinguish problem areas and provide standard or bespoke solutions
- To regularly coordinate with the Internal Sales Team and work in collaboration with the relevant Market Specialist as and when required
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- To hold a minimum HNC qualification in an engineering discipline
- To have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in external sales and previous experience selling directly into an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- The ability to develop existing and new client relationships and a proven track record in account management
- Well versed selling to end users and OEM sectors, taking a consultative approach with the ability to offer "off the shelf", as well as customised offerings that are bespoke to the clients' requirements. Someone who understands "value-added" sales would be especially useful in this role.
- Must be a skilled verbal and written communicator who is confident communicating at all levels
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Previous experience of working within the aerospace, automotive, chemical, Injection Moulding and/or pharmaceutical industries would be highly advantageous
- Knowledge & experience of selling critical parts associated with the aerospace, automotive, chemical, Injection Moulding and/or pharmaceutical sectors
