The company
A well established Manufacturing Sub-Contractor that supply products into a number of industries. With over 100 employees and multiple Northampton based sites also. Following new contracts and a lot of recent growth and expansion, the company have got exciting plans moving forward.
The role
Leading a team of Quality inspectors across two Northampton sites, the company are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Manager to join the company in Northampton.
You will take responsibility for:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system to optimize manufacturing processes, minimize defects, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define quality objectives, set performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures to eliminate recurrence.
- Manage and mentor a team of quality control professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of quality consciousness, promoting awareness and adherence to quality standards at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure their compliance with quality requirements and facilitate effective supplier quality management.
- Monitor customer feedback and work closely with the customer service team to address any quality concerns promptly and effectively.
What you need
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Quality Manager or in a similar quality leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (ISO 9001, 14001 Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
- Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proficient in conducting quality audits and inspections, interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact with clients.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for delivering exceptional quality products and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Solid leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing a team.
