Quality Engineer
The company
A market leading Automotive Manufacturer with an esteemed history and expertise within the industry. With sites all across the Midlands and huge corporate backing behind them also.
The role
They are looking for a Quality Engineer who has a focus on NPI to join their New Model Launch team on an initial 12-month basis.
You will take responsibility for:
- Collaborating with internal employees and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.
- Supporting concept design to avoid failure and utilising PFMEA and DFMEA's
- Ensuring all supplier PPAP documentation is completed and meets the correct standards
- Working on control plans and performing continuous improvement process audits to assess reliability.
- Assisting with the APQP process, using commodity plans to confirm supplier delivery schedules whilst leading APQP reviews and sessions where needed.
- Visit and asses suppliers capacity to deliver new model launches
- Resolve on site issues at both suppliers, customers and base site
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Previous experience in a Quality Engineering capacity in a manufacturing background
- Proven experience and knowledge of Quality Engineering in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders internal and external and of all levels
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
- Excellent experience of APQP and PPAP
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience working in an Automotive background, preferably Body in White.
- Degree in engineering or relevant subject
- Project management experience
