The Company
My client is an award winning engineering consultancy which supply into Automotive and Aerospace industries, specialising in transmission and driveline systems. After significant expansion, the company are on the hunt for Principal Engineers to join the team and aid the development of projects.
The Role
This a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for developing power electronic systems for various applications. This will include circuit design, component selection and overseeing the implementation of prototype hardware for various systems as well as development of the functionality and performance of bespoke designs.
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful Principal Engineer to have the following:- Confidence in their ability to plan and execute multiple projects and create positive relationships with clients
- Proficient experience in the development of power electronics. Preferably power inverter and switch mode power supplies
- Understanding of digital motor control schemes i.e. IPM, SPM, ASM, SR- FOC field weakened operation, overmodulation, harmonic current injection for NVH, fault protection schemes etc.
- Familiar with the design of digital and mixed signal control
- Experience in the attenuation of electrical noise
- A proven history of the development of power electronics hardware in the lab, vehicle, and rig settings.
- Experience with managing PCB layout, mechanical system design and the manufacture of electrical components
- Experience and training in the use of high power, high voltage development and test equipment. E.G high power battery emulations, PSU's, power analysers etc within a high voltage development lab and EDU test facility (Between 1MW and 800 Vdc).
