The company
A well-established privately-owned manufacturing company who specialises in subcontract CNC machining, supporting a range of industries including Arespace, Defence, Nuclear and the wider general manufacturing sector. Due to significant investment, and an increase in orders, the company are looking to add a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator (Miller) to their stable team.
The role
A CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator (Miller) with expertise in Heidenhain controls. Responsibilities include developing numerical control programs, selecting cutting tools, and using Heidenhain software to guide CNC milling machines. Collaborating with engineers and machinists to ensure efficient production processes and high-quality machined components. Working hours 8 am - 4 pm (Monday-Thursday), 8 am - 3 pm (Friday) 39 Hours a week.
You will take responsibility for:- One offs and small batch production.
- Machining a range of materials including, Mild Steel, Stainless steel, and Nickel Alloys such as Invar
- Working with a range of parts, which include heavy fabrication cast iron components.
- Working with full autonomy, taking responsibility for own work and programming from scratch
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:- Strong proficiency in using milling machines with Heidenhain controls.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:- Previous experience of working with a range of materials and heavy fabrications
