BI Lead
Our client is a multi-national corporation well established in the Banking Industry of Africa. As a leading corporation within Africa and three offices across the continent, as well as their London HQ, they are becoming the leading Financial Operator across the continent. The Role
With the increase in customer base, the company are dealing with huge amounts of data. Having just celebrated their onboarding of 3 million customers recently, more and more data is required to be managed and processed for its value.
As a BI Lead, you will be reporting into the Director of Decision Science and working closely within the Decision Science team. The role consists of two halves: reporting and analytics. Alongside your reporting requirements, which are derived by the stakeholders. Also, another of your responsibilities will be to look after the investigative analytics. On the reporting side, you will use Big Query and Looker to generate a BI dashboard. Analytically, a day-to-day basis will be required, communicating with stakeholders to derive the issue, and generate a data-driven response to make a well-conceived recommendation.
Also, you will be responsible for the lead and growth of the BI team that will ensure the maintenance of the center of excellence. However, it is imperative that you have hands on knowledge and experience of delivering end-to-end BI reports and solutions. This will be derived from requirement analysis, data acquisition and transformation, report generation and then interpretation of the report to stakeholders in a non-technical way that is understandable to a non-technical audience.

What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Strong analysis skills using SQL
- Experience with strong visualization skills with a strong BI dashboard platform: i.e. Power BI, Qilkview, Looker, Sisense and Tableau
- Experience and good understanding of a data cloud platform
- 3+ years' experience working with within BI department, preferably within the financial industry
- 1+ years' experience working as a Senior BI analyst/ BI Lead
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- General programming language skills, that are preferably open sourced that can be used for ETL purpose
- Experience working with ETL
- Experience working with Big Query, SQL Server
- Experience working within the financial industry
