IT Technician

The company

A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham specialising in the supply of core Aerospace components to the world's leading Aerospace and defence manufacturers. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking an IT Technician.

The role

An IT Technician is required to join the team on a permanent basis.

You will take responsibility for:

• You will be working in the process control department, supporting the computer infrastructure and network.
• Support on Active directory and Windows Domain
• Server and computer preparation for use in a factory setting. Also, preparing industrial Software
• Applying Windows and Security updates, whilst working and adhering to the manufacturing production requirements and schedule
• Provide support and solutions for computers in an industrial environment
• CISCO, Microsoft SQL, SharePoint administration and updates

You will be provided training and opportunities to learn in:

• Microsoft SharePoint and Power Platform Development
• Software development in .net and for Scada/PLC systems
• Microsoft SQL database administration and development
• Aveva OSI PI historian

What you need

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Other DESIRABLE (but not NECESSARY) skills include:

• Any software development experience (VB, VB.net, .net, Python, C#)
• Experience or knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases
• Experience of knowledge of PLC or SCADA systems
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
• Cisco network knowledge or experience
• Active Directory experience
