The company
A leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham who specialise in cutting edge Automation projects, working closely with some of the world's leading businesses. After securing a number of long-term contracts with key customers, the company are seeking to an experienced Project Engineer to join their Manufacturing team at their new facility.
The role
Reporting into the Technical Director, a Project Engineer is now required join the team on a permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:- Maintaining key relationships with a key OEM customer, working with key external stakeholders on their project plans and bespoke requirements
- Ensure projects are managed from cradle to grave, assisting end customers in utilising the correct automation solution for their problem
- Ensure on time delivery of project, ensuring the project is delivered within the allocated budget
- Allocating the correct level of budget to the project, managing and liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to coordinate effective delivery
- Assisting with the procuring of materials, documentation for operator instructions within manufacturing, implementing SOP's for project
- Working closely with design teams, supporting customers in the manufacturing processes by supporting with design of jigs and fixtures to assembly benches and semi-automated machines
- Providing OEM & Tier 1 Automotive/Yellow Goods industry customers with Automation solutions
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:- Knowledge and understanding of design/Cad is essential
- Must have automotive OR automation/robotics experience and skilled in designing automotive solutions / special purpose machinery.
- A skilled communicator who is comfortable working to deadlines and projects
Other DESIRABLE skills include:- Track record of success in cradle to grave project engineering within the Automation/Special purpose machinery would be ideal
