The company
My client is locally owned business who have been operating for nearly 30 years. My client is hoping to take on an aspiring Procurement Assistant to train and grow alongside the company. This role would be ideal for a college leaver/school leaver who is looking to establish their career in procurement.
The role
Reporting to the Production Manager, a Junior/Graduate Procurement Assistant is now required to join the team on a permanent basis.
You will take responsibility for:- Perform standard administration duties in order to support the Procurement Department.
- Acquire quotes and measure quotes in compliance with company procedure.
- Communicate with suppliers and in-house departments to assist the Procurement Department.
- Ensure purchase orders and invoices are accurate and liaise with suppliers to attain proof of delivery
- Process purchase orders and invoices
- Aid the Procurement Team in acquiring new supply chains
- Perform stocktakes
- Monitor and approve requisition requests between office-based and site-based staff
- Process purchase orders and arrange for goods to be shipped by raising delivery notes and commercial invoices

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

Other DESIRABLE skills include:- Occasionally delivering & collecting
- Occasionally using forklift truck to load / unload lorries
