The company
A global manufacturing business, based across 4 continents and supplying into the world's leading Aerospace, defence, building and construction Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its critical Runcorn site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join them as part of their growth plans.
The role
A Maintenance Manager, reporting into the head of Engineering, who will take responsibility for leading a team of 10, including Engineer's, planners and an administrator.
You will take responsibility for:
- Taking the company on a journey from reactive maintenance to a preventative maintenance ethos and culture
- Driving improvement initiatives across a busy manufacturing plant
- Project leading and involvement with key capital projects as well as active involvement in process improvements to reduce costs and keep downtime to a minimum
- Man management of a small team and managing resource effectively to align with Maintenance plans and schedules
- Looking after a variety of heavy engineering equipment including a 2000 tonne press along with various ovens and furnaces
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Previous Management of Supervisory experience within a manufacturing setting
- Proven track record of implementing PPM (Planned preventative maintenance) strategy
- Ability to work with others and positively influence a team and work independently using own initiative.
- Good problem-solving and organisation skills, able to deliver solutions in a fast-moving environment
- Must be computer literate, organised, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a strong communicator
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience of working with Rockwell Automation/ABB/Allen Bradley PLCs would be highly advantageous
- Strong multiskilled experience would be helpful but standalone mechanical/electrical bias is acceptable
- Experience of working in an automated paint spraying plant and/or heavy engineering plant would highly advantageous but not essential
