The company
A renowned high precision machine tool manufacturer with a worldwide distribution network working closely with some of the world's leading companies across a wide range of sectors. As part of their commitment to exceptional customer support, they are expanding their support team and seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to join the team.
The role
A Field Service Engineer is now required to join the team on a permanent basis to support customers across the UK and Ireland (with a focus in the Midlands).
You will take responsibility for:
- Responding to routine service and breakdown requests with a range of customers, on a variety of Lathe CNC and machine tools.
- Installation and commissioning of CNC Lathe machines at customer sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland with a focus around midlands areas
- Developing an understanding and product knowledge of the Linear robots and bar feeding systems to further enhance customer support.
- Work from technical engineering drawings to evaluate and determine the most optimal approach for manufacturing the component.
- Ensuring efficient cutting of materials through appropriate speeds, feeds and tool tip selection
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- HNC Qualified or apprentice trained in engineering or similar field.
- Ideally would have worked in a field-based role within the machining sector
- Ideally over 6 years of work experience in CNC Turning with an excellent understanding of CNC machine tool maintenance and Fanuc Controls (G code programming using Manual guide I)
- Excellent knowledge and experience of using Fanuc Controls
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
- Experience of working with multi-spindle and multi-turret lathes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a client-facing role
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Having familiarity with iHMI would be highly advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
- Knowledge of Gantry robots and bar feed loading systems is desirable
