- An immediate start awaits the successful candidate joining our national residential college and registered charity located in Birmingham. Our "LEAP" Animal Care program is delivered on Entry Level 3 and Level 1. LEAP Hubs have a specific industry focus and are designed to help prepare students for future experience of the real work environment.
The RoleAs the selected candidate, you will operate within the "LEAP" framework, taking on the role of an educator responsible for a group of learners facing various challenges, ranging from moderate to severe learning difficulties. These learners, aged 16-25, require highly personalized approaches to learning, both inside and outside the classroom, with a specific focus on adult life skills within the community.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering the LEAP Design & Production course creatively, responsibly, and adaptably, using a highly personalized approach in collaboration with the Curriculum Area Manager, ensuring a clear understanding of the Intent, Implementation, and Impact.
- Sequencing the LEAP Design & Production curriculum to reflect skill progression throughout the three-year program, aligning with learner needs, defined outcomes, and adhering to examination board requirements (if necessary) and funding agencies.
- Demonstrating a solid grasp of the Education Inspection Framework, in line with OFSTED inspections.
- Participating in the Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) curriculum and the welfare of learners, serving as a group tutor and personal tutor to shape, support, and monitor the learner journey.
- Preparing lesson resources tailored to individual needs, incorporating a variety of engaging methods, including the appropriate use of digital devices, assistive technology, IT interactive resources, and practical activities.
What You Need:
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to:
- Have a minimum of 12 months' experience within SEN education.
- Hold a valid DBS certificate.
- Have a minimum of 2 years UK work experience.
- Adhere to the College's Health and Safety policy.
- Undergo any necessary training or updates.
- Participate in the advancement of equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding within the department and throughout the College.
- Contribute to the team's self-assessment activities.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by the College.
