Technical Author - Engineering
Salary: £30,000 - 35,000 per annum
Location: Cradley Heath, Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
Job Type: 37 Hours per week - 8.00am to 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak).

Their designs, verified with technology, prioritise user-friendliness and robust engineering for demanding conditions. Collaborating closely with clients, they craft equipment configurations for efficient production, optimal plant layout, and reliability across diverse industrial environments.
As a Technical Author you will take responsibility for:- Writing up clear, precise Technical Manuals on Special purpose Machinery/Automation for customers.
- Standardising of instructions for repeat machines.
- Work closely with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy in technical content.
- Provide support to end-users by creating user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting documents to address common issues.
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful Technical Author to have the following:- Previous experience writing technical documentation within an Engineering / Manufacturing setting.
- Ideally previously worked as a Technical Author however experience across Projects, Installation, Applications, Design and/or Technical would be considered.
- Strong written communication skills with grammatical precision with the ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Technical & Design teams.
Other DESIRABLE experience include:- Experience within Special Purpose Equipment or plant machinery would be advantageous but not essential.
