The role A
CNC Grinder (Days) is now required to join the team permanently. You will be using computer numerical control (CNC) technology to grind and shape various materials with high accuracy and repeatability. You will be manufacturing processes to produce precision components, such as gears, shafts, and tools, by removing material from workpieces to meet specific dimensional and surface finish requirements. This is a five-day workweek (Mon-Fri), 38 hours/week 7/7.30 am - 3.45/4.15 pm (Mon-Thur) Half day Friday, with Overtime available 1.33x Mon-Fri, 1.5x Saturday and 2.0x Sunday.
You will take responsibility for:- Setting and operating cylindrical grinding machines
- Producing accurate manufactured machined parts to exact tolerances and quality checking these parts to make sure they meet standards and requirements.
- Working within a small team of grinders and providing input and support
What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:- A strong understanding and experience of cylindrical grinding
- Experience of being able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in meeting deadlines and targets
Other DESIRABLE skills include:- Previous experience working with Fortuna, Ultragrind, DMG CTX500, or Jones & Shipman would be highly desirable
- Previous experience within a precision engineering environment
- Previous experience working with minimal supervision
