The Company
A global supply chain and logistics solution provider to some of the world's largest Automotive, Technology, MedTech, Industrial and Healthcare corporations. Specialising in the design and implementation of logistical solutions. Due to a significant increase in demand with a number of key customers, they are seeking a Process Engineer to join their Engineering team at their Hinckley facility.
The role
A Process Engineer is required to join the Engineering team on a permanent basis to work on Continuous Improvement, operational efficiencies, and layout at the Hinckley site.
You will take responsibility for:
- Support the continuous improvement initiatives at the site including improving existing systems, provide flexibility for expansion and input for development of improving systems.
- Applying lean principal tools in everyday analysis and assignments, whilst ensuring business related reviews are kept up to date.
- Carry out work studies to analyse work systems, prepare summary reports for and in support of operations.
- Develop credibility and trust to customers, and support sales in presenting solutions.
- Work closely with Business Development/Account Management, Launch and Operational teams to develop and implement solutions to meet the requirements of new and existing business.
- Managing budgets, processes, work standards and facilities and making informed decisions and recommendations about capital equipment
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Experience in solutions design in a logistics/warehouse/manufacturing facility and in supporting warehousing contracts.
- Experience of working with Six Sigma, Kaizen and lean principles
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Visio, Word) and project management software.
- Excellent problem solver and skilled communicator who is comfortable working to deadlines and projects
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience in packaging and/or innovation would be advantageous
- Ability to work within a very demanding environment whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, Transport Management systems and/or Order Systems.
- Additional experience/qualifications as a six sigma green/black belt would be advantageous
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operational Research, Supply Chain, or relevant field. A strong background in cost saving initiatives and engineering redesign would be most desirable.
