The company
A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace, defence, building and construction Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Runcorn site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking an Automation Engineer to join their technical team.
The role
An Automation Engineer reporting into the Engineering Manager, responsible for the technical development of existing processes and systems across the department.
You will take responsibility for:
- For all predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance across the facility and actively perform continuous improvement activities.
- Project leading and involvement with key capital projects as well as active involvement in process improvements to reduce costs and keep downtime to a minimum
- Interrogating and adjusting programs (Ideally Rockwell) on various PLC controlled production equipment and backing up all PLC and HMI Software
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Must have relevant industry qualifications/training and experience of working within a manufacturing/production environment
- Ability to work with others and positively influence a team and work independently using own initiative.
- Good problem-solving and organisation skills, able to deliver solutions in a fast-moving environment
- Must be computer literate, organised, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a strong communicator
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience of working with Rockwell Automation/ABB/Allen Bradley PLCs would be highly advantageous
- Experience of working in an automated paint spraying plant would highly advantageous but not essential
